The last three days have passed by like an eternity. I can not believe that just 3 days ago, I lost two very important people. Yet, in that time, we've had many discussions about what to be thankful for. We've seen family and friends that we haven't seen in years, we've had to reorganize the kitchen umpteen times to accommodate all the food and supplies people have brought us. We've made a call to ask for a babysitter so we can go to the funeral home, and one appears at the door within minutes.
We've also watched the news van drive back and forth in front of the house in what appeared to be shark like fashion. That is, until we took the time to talk to them. At first, The Colonel and his youngest brother stood out in the yard trying to look as menacing as possible...but then the news reporters caught The Colonel's sister on her way to the store...and we found out that they just wanted to help us honor Gary and Kim.
They came to the house yesterday while we took the kids out to a museum to give everyone a break, and the wonderful wonderful interview and story are shown here. The written story is powerful, but click on the video to see my MIL and FIL be the strongest people I know.

Sally, your in-laws are so unbelievably strong. Their faith is so inspiring. We are praying for your entire family and thinking of you during this difficult time.
You and your family continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.
i am so glad you have such a wonderful, supportive family. on both sides.
xxoxox
We saw this at 6:00 last night. I thought the news crew did an excellent job. It was a very nice tribute... and M & W looked so strong.
I'd be scared though, if The Colonel gave me a menacing look. :)
I agree with Rachel- I hope I never have to see one of the Colonel's menacing looks! Yikes. It stinks to be so far from you when you are dealing with this, but I'm glad you have so much support. Romans 8:28, right? Even now. Love you!
Thanks for the link to the video. I'm so glad they decided to do it, and that the news folks were respectful and kind.
Still thinking about ya'll... and praying all the time...
Such faith! They both were so strong and are so right, this could not have been an accident. This some how fits into God's perfect plan.
I've thought and prayed for you all week.
I wasn't able to see the video but the write up was very tasteful and respectful. I've been catching up and am so sorry for the pain of your loss.
