Calling all Bako bloggers!

Hey, all you Bako bloggers (and commenters) out there!

How about a Bako Bloggers Bash the week of August 18? I'll be out your way for a whole week (I'm SO excited), and I think it would be so fun to meet up and see each other face to face instead of through keyboards and pictures. Anyone up for that?

We could meet at one of the famous Bako spots (that I dearly miss) and just hang out for a bit. See if we can chat as well in person as we can over the computer.

What are the Bako spots you are referring to? Not that I will be there, but I'd love to know what good stuff I'm missing out on... ie: Dewars, Jakes Tex Mex, Sequoia Sandwiches, Mannings Yogurt?

Well, you named one of them - Dewars. I'm not a huge Jake's fan except for the choc cake.

But, also In N Out, Cafe Med, Uricchios, La Fonda, Jamba Juice, Baja Fresh...I'm sure there are more. Is it crazy how much FOOD I miss from there??

Sorry, but does Mannings Yogurt even exist anymore?? I am a Bakersfield native & haven't noticed it in years.

Amanda said...

Okay, I had to go investigate it. Yes, they still exist. Although I have never had yogurt from there. I guess I will have to try something new. I am more the Ivy's yogurt gal. We have some new yogurt places too.

um, yogurt? When we could have Dewars or Uricchios or Cafe Med? mmmm...Cafe Med. I'm hungry.

You know I'm in.

What is La Fonda?

Agnes - let's DEFINITELY go to Cafe Med. If we do it while my parents are still in town, they can watch the boy and we can really have fun. =)

La Fonda is a little hole in the wall taco place that used to be by BHS til it burned down. Not sure where it is now.

Ah, Bakersfield, eh? I kept meaning to ask you what part of CA you were from... I'm a transplanted CA girl myself, but I grew up farther north near Sacramento. We always stop in Bakersfield on our way to my folks, since it's almost exactly half-way between their house and Vegas.

And I really have no point to this comment, since I'm too far away to join in the fun. :-)

That sounds good. I was just trying to think about how I could get J to watch BOTH boys...and I'm not sure it's possible!!

I'm in, too! Just let me know when and where, baby!!! My girls will be thrilled to meet Major in person, so we've got to work that in somehow, too.

Um, can I join?!?!

Sally, I feel like we are "real" friends now... your on my blog roll. Woot woot! So now when I tell my husband, "Oh my friend..." he can't say "Christie, she isn't really your friend, she is Sara's friend..." because I can say, "No, she is MY friend too... she is on my blog roll."

I start work again that week (boo!) but I'm in for Cafe Med or delicious icecream in the evening!!

Is it illegal for me to say on here I love martinis and pita at Cafe Med. Because mmmmmm that sounds oh so good right now!!! :)

Sally said...

Char - where near Sac? I lived in Stockton and Lodi for a while.

Daisy - the girls will definitely meet the boy!

Christie - I feel the SAME way - we are "real" friends now. PLEASE join us when we all get together. And martinis and pita?? Oh yeah, baby!! But, I might have to stick with red wine - you'll have to ask Agnes about the last time I had martinis at Cafe Med. Um, oops!

Amy said...

hee hee

Maybe one martini?

I'm so sad, I will still be in Japan, if you come back to Bake-town in the winter, we can meet up then.
