Job Update

I prayed for clear direction on what job to take, if any. And wouldn't you know it? God answered!

I did NOT get the university job (the one that was my dream job), but I was offered part time contract work at the company that had offered me full time back in February.

And my work, who said I was supposed to have returned to work last Monday, said they would consider part time ontract work for me, too.

So, I QUIT my full time job at the place that I loathed so much anyway. Man, did that feel good!! I went in on Friday to clean out my desk (I was surprised that 2 years only netted me 1 1/2 boxes of junk -- but then I remembered I cleaned it all out back in January with the layoff scare) and to have lunch with some of the awesome people I worked with (my co-workers weren't the problem). My boss pulled me aside and said that part time probably wouldn't work out after all. I wasn't exactly disappointed, I just wanted to have a back up plan in place.

I'm not thrilled about working at all, but I am excited about a new opportunity with a company that actually has room for growth. I'll only be working 3 days a week, so I'll have 4 day weekends every weekend (who can complain about that??) and hopefully lots of time to spend with my precious boy.

Well I'm glad that at least something worked out for part time and you don't have to stay where you were. Maybe there will be an opportunity for your dream job in the future?

I'm glad you updated...I've been wondering ever since the email and have been meaning to call.

I hope your new part time job works out very well for you. And having 4 days in a row off is a good thing! :)

Part time is the best! It is the best of both worlds! I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Congratulations on the new job scene! Sounds like it will be a great thing--I'm glad you don't have to do full-time. Love all the pics of the Colonel and Lil Major. I can't believe how big he's getting!

Blessings!

I am so glad to hear that. You had mentioned something in your post to the girls earlier, but I am so glad to hear that it ll worked out. I loved working part time. Now my work takes over, but it was perfect in that phase of my life!!

Yeah for finding part-time work!!! I think working 2-3 days a week is PERFECT. As much as I love staying home during the summer, I miss that "adult interaction" time where I'm using my brain and feeling like I am an asset to society. As important as being a mother is to me, I just know I'm a better person when I work a few days a week. It makes me feel so refreshed and rejuvinated to conquer my tasks at home. It is so wonderful that there are employers out there who are willing to support the stay at home AND working mother personalities in so many of us!
