16 Hours Later...

my new nephew is finally here!

After 16 hours of labor - 4 at home and 12 at the hospital, an epidural, a little oxygen, a little pitosin, and a lot of pushing...he was born at 3:58pm EST. He weighed 7 lb 2 oz and was 21 inches long. Mama, Daddy, and baby are doing great!

And after all our fretting and worrying, God once again showed us that things happen in his PERFECT timing and for our good. Mom and Dad got a chance to see Indy with Sister and BIL, and they even got all the Thanksgiving shopping out of the way.

Mud (as I will affectionately call my new nephew) showed up with plenty of time for everyone to get settled back at home before my brother, B and I show up on Thursday. And, we'll get to spend 5 days with the entire family. All our fretting for nothing...Praise God for answered prayers!

His initials are MD, and I have another nephew that my nieces called "Dirt Piles" while my SIL was pregnant, so another kid named some form of dirt seemed appropriate! Mom suggested Doc, but Mud is more fun...sister is NOT happy w/ my choice, so who knows what my kid will be called.

He is a cutie!!!

DH's nickname in High School Band was Rock. Dad said mom was older than dirt, which made her water, and him dirt. I guess that makes me mud. Married Rock, and maybe have some gravel someday. Pebbles and BamBam?

I like that you thought about the web name for the nephew. Makes it more affectionate. :-)

no . . it's not affectionate . . . change it!

Naner - make me!

That will just be his blogger name...I won't call him that to his face...but his Uncle B might. Actually, he'll probably come up with something else, but it will be cute and sweet.
