What the heck happened??

It was a sad sad weekend for football in our family...EVERY single team that I rooted for this weekend LOST...and they all lost in the ending minutes and seconds of the game. How does that happen??

The Crimson Tide gave it up to LSU yesterday, setting the stage for the rest of the weekend. It was a close game, peppered with many many fouls and penalties (mostly due to playing dirty) on the part of LSU. Those stinkin' cajuns thought they had some sort of beef with Alabama since their coach got smart and left them and headed to UA, by way of the NFL. Whatever. You can read more about the emotions of this game at my sister's post on the game...don't worry -- she didn't go into labor.

There has been lots of hype about the Packers going to Kansas City this weekend. Brett Farve had never beat the Chiefs, and as much as everyone in KC wants to beat Brett, there is an awe that he brings to football, and people just wanted to see him. Of course, we still expected our boys to send those Packers crying back to Green Bay. Unfortunately, it was not to be. It was a great game, very close...until the end. I started to get excited during the 3rd quarter that we might actually kick some Packer butt...and then our QB threw an interception...at the WORST possible time! The only consolation is that pretty much everyone else in our division lost today, too.

Next week KC plays the Broncos, and B and I wll be there cheering on our team and celebrating our 7th anniversary. We better win next week!!

So, if those 2 losses weren't bad enough...the Colts had to go and lose also. Now, I'm not a bandwagoner. I didn't cheer for the Colts just because they won the Superbowl last year. I like Tony Dungy - what a great guy! I'm reading his book right now, and so far it's awesome. Plus, Sis just moved to Indy, so we have to have a bit of loyalty to their home team - as long as they're not playing KC. Anyway, the undefeated Colts played the undefeated Patriots...and they lost. Another CLOSE game...until the end. So now the Patriots are undefeated and the Colts aren't. Bummer...

BUT, there was some good news in the midst of all this. In between the Chiefs loss and the start of the Colts game, I FINALLY got a call on my car. A friend had forwarded on my ad to a friend of hers, and he called this afternoon looking to buy a car for his kid who's going to college. The guy really liked the car for his kid, and he even knew cars. He said I have a leak in my exhaust system and that the muffler needs to be replaced (I've never had a problem, but whatever). But, even with that, he said the car was in great shape for its age (it is!), and he just wanted to check with his insurance company and find out how much a new muffler would be, and then he thought we'd have a deal. I won't pay for the new muffler, but this guy understands that. I have the car listed for $1600 below blue book, so I think he can take care of that. So, my car may be almost sold. I'm excited and sad at the same time. I love getting new cars, but I know I will miss the Saab. B told me to drive all day tomorrow with the top down since it might be my last time...I almost cried...and B laughed at me. I'm sure he would be crying if he had to say goodbye to his hummer!

I'll let you know how the car deal goes...looks like I need to figure out what I'm going to get now. Oh, we kinda ruled out the Murano, and now we're thinking about a Honda Pilot.

Enjoy the game next weekend :-), we were considering offering a friendly bet for next weekend, but after today's embarrasing game, I will be thoroughly surprised if those Donkeys even win another game at all this season! Have fun at the game & happy anniversary too!!!

Grandparents had a Honda Pilot, and I got to drive it. It seemed.... spacious. I loved it. It was a little tall for me, but I could DEFINITELY get over it! :-)

I have to say that Ford has improved over the years, but I still have had way too many probs with them to endorse them. Sorry. I love my Chevys, my good friend loves her Dodges... I say go with what works for you. If you don't love it, you will hate it.

Um, so sorry about the football. All I could think was that LSU and Alabama game was on when CSI was supposed to be. I made Danny flip back and forth checking to see if the football game was *ever* going to be over, LOL. Watching just about any kind of sports drives me nuts because 2 minutes is never 2 minutes! Why can't my minutes stretch out that long when there is something I want to do but don't have enough time for?

umm. . don't know your friend terri, but don't listen to her!! stay w/ the honda - when usa can build a car as stinkin good as any HONDA then maybe i'll go w/ them! ;) you KNOW we're a honda family!!

I'm with Jana on the Honda thing. I think they are awesome (along with Toyotas!) USA is getting trendier but not so much more reliable, in my experience, at least. And don't even consider a BMW--don't get me started on my experience. I mean, does a comment page even have room enough for all that? :)

Sports--I could go my whole life without 'em. But I have some New England roots so I had to cheer a little for the Patriots. The rest of the sports stuff you wrote on I just smiled and nodded at as if I had a clue! If you wanna talk shopping, card games, jeans and purses, I can debate some...

Man, you guys are being hard on Terri...not that I don't agree with you, but still. =)

Terri - I'm all for supporting you, but besides trucks (my dad LOVES his F-350), I don't have too much faith in Ford yet, even though some of the newer models are pretty cute.

I've owned 3 hondas, one chevy, and the Saab (which is GM)...I've been a lot happier with my foreign cars (even though they were actually built in Ohio), but, I still don't know what I'm going to do!

Football....barf.

Honda Pilot....awesome! Rode in one this weekend all the way to L.A. and back, and loved it. Six adults, plenty of space even in the "way back" row, very smooth, handled the Grapevine neatly at 80mph. I would recommend one!

Did I mention football=barf?

ugh. USA cars SUCK. seriously. sure, they are starting to get better, but really? for your money, i say go with a volvo or a honda. USA makes good trucks, and that's it. yes, i drive a saturn, and it's GM and it's been good to me, but that's a starter car. you need more than that. and marge is right on the bmw's. go for a mercedes if you want to spend that money. they are far superior and don't break down nearly as much.

but you'll look cute in whatever you buy! :-)

Okay, now back to football... I was at the Auburn Homecoming game this weekend...We won.. 35-3, but naturally you do not play a good team during homecoming... I made it home in time to catch the last half of the UA/LSU game and was absolutely thrilled until the last 2 minutes... Ughhhh!! I just knew we were gonna win!!
